Carolina Moreira, MD is a specialist in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine and serves as Medical Director of Clinical Development. Her team is critical in the design, build, and coordination of Sword's AI Care solutions. She supports clinical strategy and program development with a strong focus on clinical rigor and member-first design.
She plays a central role in defining clinical guardrails for Sword's AI Care, enabling consistent decision-making, reinforcing strong governance, and accountability at scale.
Education
Carolina is an affiliated professor at the University of Porto, bridging real-world clinical practice with academic leadership. She earned her MD from ICBAS and completed specialty training in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine. She has pursued advanced postgraduate training spanning musculoskeletal and sports medicine, pain-focused interventions, and human performance in demanding environments, including training through NASA - UTMB and European Astronaut Center in aerospace medicine.
Carolina has also shared exchanges in MSK rehabilitation in New Zealand and at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York. This multidisciplinary foundation supports her work in clinical development, where she translates rigorous clinical practice into scalable, evidence-based models of care.
