Luke Belz is Vice President of Health Economics at Sword Health, where he leads initiatives to demonstrate the clinical and economic value of Sword’s digital care programs. His work focuses on developing the data-driven insights that help employers and health plans understand the impact of Sword's programs. Luke and his team have developed and refined industry-leading modeling to accurately assess the healthcare outcomes and cost savings for Sword clients. Luke’s leadership ensures Sword’s partnerships are grounded in transparent, evidence-based analytics that translate clinical efficacy into measurable commercial results.

Education

Luke earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics from the University of Denver, graduating summa cum laude. During his studies, he was recognized as a Chancellor’s Scholar and Hornbeck Scholar, and was named to the Dean’s List for academic excellence. His foundation in finance and economics continues to inform his evidence-based approach to measuring value and outcomes in healthcare.

Experience

Before joining Sword in 2021, Luke led analytics and insights teams across several innovative healthcare organizations. As Head of Analytics at Hazel Health, he built the analytical foundation for measuring access and impact in school-based virtual care. At Virta Health, Luke guided customer insights strategy to evaluate clinical performance and return on investment for chronic disease management programs. Earlier, during his seven-year tenure at Paladina Health, he served as Director of Analytics, where he spearheaded initiatives that improved operational efficiency and enhanced client engagement. Luke began his career at Eli Lilly and Company as a pharmaceutical sales representative, gaining early experience in the dynamics of healthcare delivery and patient engagement.
