Benefits decisions at enterprise scale are rarely made in isolation. Jeannette Abbott has spent her career in the space between those decisions: facilitating the peer conversations, advisory boards, and executive roundtables where hundreds of benefits leaders responsible for millions of covered lives and billions of dollars in healthcare spend work through what they are actually seeing.
At Sword Health, she leads Ecosystem Relationships, building the strategic connections across employers, health plans, consultants, and industry partners that keep Sword's work grounded in the real pressures shaping benefits strategy today. Before Sword, Jeannette led one of the largest employer communities in the country, where she developed deep expertise in how large self-insured employers think, decide, and share what they know with each other.
That experience shapes how she runs Sword's Customer Advisory Board and Voice of the Employer program, bringing genuine market signal back into how Sword develops and communicates its work. The most useful thing she can do for a benefits leader is help them learn from someone who has already made the call they are facing. That is the work.
Education
Jeannette earned her Bachelor's degree from Clemson University, where she competed as a Division I student-athlete, served as team captain, and earned All-American honors in volleyball. Her experience as both an athlete and a coach shaped an approach to leadership built on teamwork, accountability, and developing high-performing teams.
