The Internal AI Ops Team

The Internal AI Ops Team leads the transformation of the company’s internal processes through Generative AI, enhancing how we work across the organization. By equipping teams like Finance, Commercial, and Talent with AI-powered tools and techniques, this team empowers departments to expand their reach and impact, thus ultimately driving the success of the company.

We’re a small team with a style reminiscent of an early-stage company, characterized by highly generalist roles and a proactive attitude. We work very closely with key stakeholders in each vertical at Sword to learn their processes and understand how we can help them succeed through AI.

In this role, you’ll report to the VP of AI and lead a team of a few Full Stack Engineers.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading Sword’s internal GenAI transition by:
  • Working alongside various teams to proactively identify opportunities for enhancing productivity and impact through the development of internal Generative AI solutions, or by leveraging existing off-the-shelf tools
  • Defining the internal Internal AI Ops roadmap;
  • Leading a team of Full Stack Engineers in the execution of such initiatives, ensuring they meet their goals;
  • Acting as a hands-on contributor in some tasks;
  • Serving as an enabler: preemptively identifying and addressing risks, ambiguities, future needs, and blind spots; finding balanced solutions for unexpected blockers.

What you need to have:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager of a highly technical AI-powered product, 3+ years of experience as a leader of an ML/DS Team or 3+ years of experience as an AI solutions architect;
  • Solid technical background and ability to exercise sound judgment over ML/DS topics;
  • Impeccable oral and written communication skills, wielded often as tools for alignment-seeking and problem distillation;
  • Strong critical thinking: strategically disagree upwards or with peers as necessary;
  • Autonomy & self-direction: aware of the team’s direction, prioritize accordingly with limited supervision even when faced with ambiguity;
  • A natural curiosity and intuition over both old and new AI techniques and the product/business problems they can address.

What we would love to see:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment wearing different hats, acting scrappy when the situation calls for it;
  • Experience with BigQuery and Looker for business and product analytics;
  • Experience with the Python data stack;
  • Get itchy with suboptimal processes and can’t help but propose improved versions.
