As an Analytics Engineer, you will bridge the gap between data engineering and data analytics, transforming data into scalable, trusted models that power business decisions and advanced analytics. You’ll play a key role in building our semantic layer, ensuring consistency of metrics across the company, and optimizing data pipelines and reporting. By doing so, you will empower teams across Sword to drive both innovation in healthcare and operational excellence.
What you’ll be doing:
- Design and maintain data pipelines, transforming raw data into clear, actionable insights using dbt and other tools.
- Build and optimize LookML models in Looker to ensure efficient, scalable, and user-friendly reporting.
- Write high-performance SQL for development, operational efficiency, and cost optimization.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering and other teams to identify opportunities, propose solutions, and implement technical improvements.
- Use Git for version control, deployment, and collaborative development in an agile environment.
- Develop and maintain a semantic layer to improve AI functionality and enhance data accessibility.
- Ensure consistency of metrics across the model, avoiding multiple definitions and logics for the same KPI, while aligning data models and transformations with both business objectives and analytical needs.
- Collaborate closely with Data Analysts and business stakeholders, ensuring that data models and definitions directly support decision-making needs and analytics workflows.
What you need to have:
- Strong proficiency in SQL.
- Hands-on experience with dbt and BigQuery.
- Ability to develop LookML models in Looker.
- Proactive mindset to identify, propose, and implement both technical and process improvements.
- Experience working in challenging and fast-paced business environments, with the ability to adapt data solutions to evolving needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with Data Analysts, business stakeholders, and engineering peers.
- Solid understanding of Git for code versioning and collaboration.
- You should know how to design and implement AI-powered workflows or automations that meaningfully improve efficiency and outcomes.
What we would love to see:
- Experience with GCP or AWS data infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with Airflow
- Knowledge of data governance best practices.
- Working knowledge of Python.
- Experience with semantic layer design and implementation to enhance AI functionality and improve data accessibility for analytics and machine learning.

Total compensation range
€41,465 - €65,160 a year
*This range includes base, variable and equity
