Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions? We’re here to help.
What is included in the Sword Health program?
When you become a Sword member, you’ll receive a kit that includes a tablet and accessories you will need to perform your exercises. Some kits may include wearable sensors. You also get full access to your own physical therapist, a personalized therapy program, and educational resources within the app.
How does the program work?
Digital Physical Therapy (DPT) pairs a licensed human physical therapist with Sword’s AI Digital Therapist. Once you enroll, you are assigned a Doctor of Physical Therapy who will work with you to prevent and treat pain, help with recovery, and more. The Digital Therapist is accessible via the tablet that will be mailed to you. Our Digital Therapist uses motion sensor technology and artificial intelligence to guide exercises to completion and collects real-time feedback so your PT can adjust your next session accordingly.
How do I sign up?
Signing up is easy. After confirming your eligibility, simply create an account and complete our onboarding questionnaire. You’ll then be ready to meet your PT and receive your kit in the mail.
What happens after I sign up?
You will receive an email with the date and time of your video call with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. If you can’t find the email in your inbox, please check the spam or the promotions folder of your email account. If you’ve checked your spam folder and still haven’t received an email from us, please contact us at help@swordhealth.com. You will also receive your Sword kit in the mail and upon completing your initial call, your assigned physical therapist will prescribe a personalized program for you and you can begin using your kit.
What is the time commitment?
For best results, we recommend completing 3-5 sessions per week on average. However, the exact time it takes to complete your program will be personal to you, and the time it takes to implement lifestyle changes is difficult to measure. Fortunately, our digital format allows you to take your program at your own pace, so you can complete your session when you want, where you want.
Can I work on multiple joints or programs at the same time? What if I have more than one condition?
It’s best to treat one part of your body at a time. When you apply, you can let us know which part of your body you want to work on first—and if you have pain in more than one area, we suggest choosing the pain that limits you the most. Once you’re able to find relief from this type of pain, you begin another program and a different part of the body.
How do I know if I’m eligible for Sword?
Sword Health is available to employees with primary insurance coverage under a participating company’s health plan. Some of our partners also offer the program to domestic partners, dependents and retirees utilizing the employer-sponsored health plan. To find out if your employer sponsors this program, visit our eligibility page and enter in your employer name. If you are not eligible at this time, please let your employer or health plan know you’d like to try Sword Health.
I am not sure how to answer some questions in the onboarding process. How do I get help?
If you have any questions during your onboarding process, you can always access someone on our Support team by clicking on the chat bubble on the bottom right corner of the window. If you prefer to email someone and come back to finishing your enrollment, you can also email help@swordhealth.com
I am already signed up, how do I log in to my program?
The Sword mobile app is your centralized hub for your program, where you can track your progress and chat with your PT. Make sure you have the Sword app downloaded (available for download from Google Play or Apple Store), so you can log in from there. To continue using your Sword program, simply turn on the tablet that comes with your kit; no additional sign in is required.
I have a technical issue with my Sword kit, how do I get help?
Simply shoot us an email at help@swordhealth.com and someone will get back to you shortly.
How do I request accommodation services for completion of my Sword program?
Members who require accommodations should notify a care coordinator or their designated PT. In addition a request for accommodations can be made by contacting Sword Health at +1 (385) 308-8034 or help@swordhealth.com. Upon receiving a request for accommodations, the company will assess the request to determine the appropriate accommodations needed to ensure equal access within 3-5 business days.
