Digital Rehabilitation for Acute Ankle Sprains: Prospective Longitudinal Cohort Study

September 30, 2021
Clinical Study: Digital vs conventional physiotherapy for chronic shoulder pain

Study Overview

Ankle sprains are very common injuries, and are often recurrent. The aim of this study was to showcase the potential of Sword Health’s digital care program in rehabilitating patients following an ankle sprain in the context of a workplace injury. We demonstrate clinically meaningful improvements in both pain and disability, with sustained results over time (6 months), as well as complete recovery in 83.9% of patients. Additionally, we observed a very low relapse rate (2.5%). This is the first study reporting the results of a digital care program for ankle sprains.
